Today I commit to a plastic-free month. Inspired by the woman who has lived without waste for two years, and by my dear friend Lydia Ainscough who did a month without plastic last November, I’ve decided it’s my turn to try conscious consumption. Starting May 1st, I will consume no plastic for 30 days. I will completely avoid single-use plastic containers and packaging, and cast a bright light on the waste that I produce. I am not for Everyone
Last week at Whistler's animal shelter WAG, I was surprised to hear that they had haters. There are people in this town who don't like the shelter and who want it gone. I've always thought of the shelter as a good cause, and was humbled to remember that some people will oppose what I think are altruistic causes. The reality is, not everyone loves everything. At a personal level, this is really important to remember. It's tempting to say "Haters gonna hate," but so much more r
